Jika anda tidak tahu berbahasa asing

Saya kini di Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon - bru tahu 2 hari lalu ye). Tiba di airport dgn sgt nerves - mostly sbb I know most people here dont speak English and the road signs...ya Tuhan. mcm mane nak sebut sume tu?
siap ade sabdu kt atas, kt tepi, kalau boleh kt tgh2 pun nak taruk agaknye. tk cukup ke roman alphabets A - Z? aku blank. ok tkpe. jgn kutuk tmpt org. nnti kene bala petaka. (cube lihat di bawah utk contoh tulisan vietnam. jap. tagalog tu bahase vietnam ke?)

The city sgt lah crowded. mcm kalah KL a. cume tk jam sbb ramai bawak moto.

ok2 berbalik kepade setibenye saye di Saigon airport.

Time nk keluar from arrivals hall, agak cuak pun ade. imagine. ramai gile org dan sume dok tunggu kt luar mcm ade artis balik ke tanah air. (serius. makcik2, awek2 dan mamat2 dok melekap kt glass door). blushing pun ade nak lalu. haha.

one thing about tmpt ni is, sume mende random. let's list all the randomness i've discovered:

1. taxi fare ikut suke hati diorg nak taruk. at one end - USD20. the other end - USD8. cangak lagi. naik yg murah a weh.

2. hampir impossible nak carik org yg mmpu berbahasa inggeris. mungkin kalau ckp bahase melayu diorg paham. ko bebel je. pastu dier ckp, NO NO. tk pun, tunjuk calculator USD 20 (contoh la).

3. VIETNAMESE DRIVERS gile. sume honk merate2 but in a polite manner (cubela imagine cmne). Dgn moto penuh gile dan jalan suke hati, traffic light mcm tk berfungsi, kerete mewah akan honk paling kuat supaye org beri laluan. nak lintas jalan pun aku cuak - walaupun diorg tidak akan langgar siape2. U-turn mmg ikut suke hati. agak2 dah salah jalan (ni habit taxi driver ye), masuk je jalan one way dan pusing kembali. yezza lah pakcik.

4. u will at least sesat sekali di vietnam. sumpah tk tipu. aku dah sesat 3 kali dlm masa 1.5days. kire la possibility tu.

5. sile jgn pandai2 sebut name jalan bajet pakcik taxi tahu hala tuju. sbb sume sebutan lain. contoh: Nguyen Van Cu disebut Nguyen Van Khe. lain ye rakan2. nnti sume tgk ko dgn muke pelik sbb jalan yg disebut itu tidak wujud. (moral of the story : tules alamat atas kertas. kalau pakcik tk reti bace, pi carik taxi lainlah).

6. Sile lihat tax di kedai2 ye. (ade kedai makan mengenakan tax sesuke hati sehingga 30% - padan la aku makan smpai VND148000 - excuse utk tidak memberitahu aku mkn byk mlm tu)

7. kalau nak gi kedai, ckp je la supermarket. tayah la tanye, "where can i buy pads?" - diorg end up pi google ape aku ckp. hahahahahahaha. (ok aku kuang ajo kt sini.)

- aku rase dier bgtau dier sesat.)

(list tu akan disambung subject to new discoveries)

Today, aku dihantar ke Vung Tau (sebelum ni aku ckp Van Chung da semua org blank tgk aku with the look "where on earth is that"). supposedly naik ferry. tp dah sini random, sume ferry cancel today. aku end up naik taxi dgn fare 1.2juta dong. mcm berketar2 tgn nak baya. kempis purse aku yg besar warne kuning tu. (tk pe boleh claim nnti ;P)

I found that Vung Tau is a very nice place and I got to stay in a PALACE! (ook tipu. hotel name the palace). best hotel ni. tk seperti budget hotel yg aku duduk di HCM (ho chi minh). tepi pantai. sgt clean. sgt kurang org. definitely a place to go for holiday. i love it. (mintak2 chopper cancel esk, so aku leh duk sini sehari lg;P)

esk naik offshore ye. bye bye darat. again.

XoXo

Omg, aku sengih cam kucing gatal baca entry ni. I never knew Vietnam was like that! Cuz I've met 2 Vietnamese men (who were sooo hottttt) and they spoke perfect English (which makes them even hotterrrr)...then again, I met them in OZ, so that doesn't count, right? But yeah, thanks for the overview of Vietnam. Sounds like a very colourful country. Hope you have fun there :) Speaking of which, ko buat apa kat situ? Business trip?

Afun: eleh afun. cube dtg sini pastu sesat. sume ckp bahase pelik dan ko jd paranoid sbb ko jalan tp jalan and tak tahu yg org yg jalan tp ko tgh ckp kuat2 and plan to kidnap ko. ha macam mane tu? jawab! jawab!

anon: apart from the taxis, I still like the food here. so not so bad after all =)
