Hidden treasure of Bukit Bintang.

Travelling back to KL from Hari Raya holiday, I chose to travel by bus from Kerteh. Fireflyz would be a much mudah option for me but sadly, fireflyz doesn’t seem to accommodate weekend and public holiday travellers from Kerteh. To add up to it, I took the longer bus ride – Plusliner. Usually the other buses, if you ride from Dungun, will arrive in KL in 5 hours but this one, since it travelled through Kuantan, it took almost 7 hours to arrive. Berhenti kuantan to take some more passenger then berhenti lg di Gambang for lunch break. Hohooo cramp lutut.

Fortunately, Aza came to the rescue. I meet her up at Pavillion as soon as i arrived and my stomach was growling with a certain cravings. (yes, food galore!!!)

This time, I craved for seafood heaven (lupekan allergy seketika).

We drove to medan selera on Jalan Alur (behind Lot 10). The gerai is the one directly opposite kedai al-fatah (or  al-fatal – u wont miss it sbb it has a bright yellow signboard and the gerai is in the medan selera). We’ve been there once for berbuka puasa but i didn’t manage to take any photo to share with fellow food lovers. (It was packed with people time berbuka puasa, which imply that they’re quite popular gerai here. ) So here they are.....

Bare in mind, it was only meant for me and Aza. Count again..2 people =D

First up, a big plate of veryyy garlic-ky Garlic Prawn. Seriously, this is by far, the best garlic prawn i’ve ever tasted. They stir fried the prawns with loadsss of garlic and some cili padi  and you can even see the diced garlic suspended at the bottom of the plate.

Next, siput sedut masak smbal kicap daun kari. I have to say, for this dish, i have tasted better at Uptown Damansara Utama as the one served here, the gravy is slightly cair and not as spicy as i hoped it would be. Nevertheless, it’s not disappointing. However, since I’m the only one eating a big plate of siput sedut, I failed miserably to finish the lot.

Lastly, a must try!! (saving the best for the last eh? :P)
Ketam masak daun kari! (okay, it sounds similar to the siput sedut dish but, the gravy is superb! I even took the siput sedut and coated it with ketam’s gravy. *high cholesterol siot. Mesti aku kene ban dgn health freaks nnti*).

I cannot describe how sedap the ketam is but i’m sure the fact that i didn’t take any photo of the dish while it’s still FULL as we’re busy digging in and licking our fingers means it tasted heavenly! Bau saje dah mengancam. Dgn hawker style punye tmpt mkn, angin2 tiup bau mknn.....hohooo.

All these for only rm105 =) It may sound pricey for any other people but that price for a large dish of ketam, large king prawns and siput sedut, its worth every penny. I’m definitely going back there SOON. (promised tariq and amal to take them there. So more anti-histamines for me this week).

RM 105 is not that bad..as long as you're happy with the food, that's what matters the most.. :)
