a perfect day

it was like all the usual nights, i've been studying until late at uni. The only difference is,when the clock struck 12, i turn 21. All the time in the lab i was thinking about going to Freo celebrating my bday myself since everybody else still have papers to sit (and so do I), so I can't afford to drag anyone with me. such a sad thing. and yes, I was thinking jugak..how is it gonna be for me this year.

I had a study group with the engineering guys, and was having fun and then the loud 12 o'clock struck. Din came to me and handed me a small piece of note which i wasn't sure of what's the content and in it. on top it says, "Tepat pkul 12 21/6". it was a small note wishing me happy birthday and it came right on the dot. it's from him and aliff. such sweet friends. Soon after that, everybody's gone. Most of us have a paper 9am the next day. So, i was there with harris, still studying. He told me to wait up as he wanted to finish reading a bit more.

When we walked back home,it was about 1am, his housemates called and said they're leaving to Bellmont to watch soccer, as usual. As we arrived at Park Road, he said he got itchy feet, so he asked me to help him open the door. not suspecting anything, I opened the door. I turned on the lights. then i saw a glimpse of people on the stairs and in the living room and then, "SURPRISE"!!!! Oh Gosh, there're so many people in the house and the people who are dear to me were there too. Hani came up with a nice colourful cake without a candle and a lovely Narnia photo on the cake. It was the nicest cake in mylife and the best part was, it's an ice cream cake.

My heart was so overwhelmed by the their thoughtfulness. I can feel happy tears coming out but i avoided them from dropping on my cheeks. I was so happy. excessively happy. I was speechless. I didn't expect anything from anyone. what more from those people I have only hang out with in the past few months.

That night, i didn't sleep well. I had trouble sleeping while smiling widely. haha. and happy tears dropped as i was lying on my bed.

The morning of my birthday, I woke up early for Petroleum Geology paper. Thankfully, everything that we've discussed the night before came up. Thank u God, for making it easy for me this time..

Straight after exam, I went to my second home. (mane lagikan). and bising to Harris to teman me to Freo. and we went. Fremantle was so 'happening' when we arrived. best gile. the shops, the festival, the market.. and lunch was superb. Chilli mussels, seafood platter and fish & chips.
Walking on the streets of Freo, shopping, it was the best thing I have ever done during my birthday. ever.

On the way back, we took the wrong bus which took us 2 hours from Freo to NEDLANDS. gile. but, it was a memorable journey.

and as the day ends, I'm still happy. kept happy by the people around me. I've been on high dosage of endorphine for almost 24hours.

For those who made my day, for those who spent their time making me happy, for those who sent me birthday wishes (even thru sms, facebook or friendster), for those who made effort to make it a day for me to remember my whole life. I have no words to describe how happy I am. thank u. thank u very much..

as i turned 21, I realized one thing.

I realized why I cannot take sugar (sugar gives me migraine).

I have enough 'sweeteners' in my life.
