hari raya

hari raya is almost here. and for the third time, i'm celebrating it here in Perth with friends which seems like a family to me. this might be my last raya here as i'm graduating soon, giving that i passed all my papers this semester.

well, this is not what i wana brag about. but the next paragraph is.

last week, i woke up at 11.30am after being so exhausted on a field trip when i heard loud knock on my door. who the heck banging on my door invading my precious dream. when i opened the door, this post messenger lady greeted me with a wide smile and TWO parcels. ok. parcels that certainly not mine and i have to wake up to sign this. dammit.

half asleep, i took the parcels and looked at the name written. BOTH.

to: miss Nur Akmal Abu Bakar.
from: Kartini Wadi. a.k.a my beloved mummy.

okay. i did not wake up for nothing. TWO PARCELS which i did not expect to arrive.

i excitedly tore the wrappers and open the box. inside were one lovely maroon coloured baju kurung with tudung and some kuih raya. not noticing the writing on the cover of the box, i opened the other parcel. a glittery tudung with some more kuih raya.

now i noticed the writings. on both parcels.

i was very touched by these writings and the effort she put in to send these things to me despite the fact she's rushing to get other things done. for god sake, the second parcel she sent just because she sort of found a more matching tudung that goes with my baju raya. mi...thank u=) she never did anything like this to me and i was so teary even before i read the writings she left for me.

i miss her more than anything now.

it's hari raya and i want to hug her.
